Discover Mudzini School
We are a vibrant learning community where academic excellence meets creativity, diversity, and opportunity.

Directors' welcome
Greetings from our Director
I would like to take the opportunity to thank you so much for finding time to visit our school website. It is my hope that these pages will provide you with an insight of who we truly are and what we stand for. The photos and other images you see reflect not only our modern facilities but also the conducive learning environment our school provides for the learners. You will also discover the diverse and international environment in our school, the impartial inclusivity, the diverse student opportunities and the various activities that our learners take part in.
Our learners take first priority in the school and every decision is made with them in mind. Both the teaching and non-teaching staff is committed to helping the students maximize their potential and be the best that they can be. This is the single most important objective that informs every decision we make as a school. The virtues of self-discipline and self-control, love, equality, respect, teamwork, hard work and achievement are ingrained in the learners as soon as they join the school, and permeate every aspect of school life.
Appreciating the uniqueness of every learner, we keep our classes’ small in order to provide individualized attention to each learner, so that each one of them can have a holistic experience at school. The learners participate in a wide range of cultural and extra curriculum activities geared towards complementing and enriching their academic work.
I sincerely hope that you will find time to visit us in the not very far away future to experience for yourself why we say Mudzini School is a school with a difference.

M.S History & Organization
Mudzini School opened on 4th, September of 2017 as an international school offering both the local and the British based Cambridge curricula to children from both affluent and disadvantaged backgrounds.
In 2018 we partnered with the British council to teach and examine students on the British curriculum (Cambridge). In January of 2019 we expanded the school to include a high school section and a boarding facility, for children unable to commute daily.
We are now a school offering the CBC, 844 and Cambridge curricula from kindergarten to high school.
Mudzini School is owned and managed by Mudzini Kwetu Centre Trust, a children's rights body. The trust is managed by a group of professionals who form the board of directors.
After inspection by the British Council in 2018 Mudzini School was appointed as a recognized examination centre.
Mudzini School is registered as a private institution by the government of Kenya, ministry of Education. Mudzini School is also a partner school of the British council group of schools.
Barely 3 years old, the school has now more than 200 students from a humble beginning of only 7 students since opening in September 2017. We pride ourselves as a school with students from all walks of life and nationalities which makes student life at MS a unique experience.
Our
Story
School Culture
A school culture of safety, challenge and joy is fundamental to engaged effective learning. Culture and community building at the classroom and school wide level are the foundation for every aspect of quality teaching and learning. Students must feel safe in order to take on new challenging academic tasks that lead to growth and high achievement. At MS we cultivate a culture of safety, challenge and joy by:
-
Getting to know students as individuals and continually assessing and adjusting practice according to their readiness for certain content or tasks, and trends in their interests and learning profiles
-
Creating and modelling norms that encourage all students to take on challenging tasks and justify their thinking with evidence
-
Modelling collaboration and providing students with opportunities to see the adults in the school community working together, giving feedback, and being open about their questions and mistakes
-
Treating students as partners in the learning process by engaging students in understanding and setting learning goals, classroom rules and norms, project ideas, and other aspects of learning
-
Showing students, the rationale underlying curricula and instruction, and being transparent about academic standards

OUR MISSION
The mission of Mudzini School is to offer an academically rigorous education of the highest quality, ensuring that our students achieve excellence in all that they endeavour to do. Founded on the best practices and curricula in local and global education, the MS program prepares students who are confident and knowledgeable and who embrace challenge. MS students learn how to access information, think critically and creatively, solve problems, work collaboratively, and have a broad understanding of communities and cultures around the world.
Mudzini School graduates are well qualified and positioned to attend the best local and international education institutions. Mudzini School pursues this mission by embracing the following learning principles:
-
Educate the whole child: intellectual, social, physical and emotional;
-
Create a safe learning environment in which students feel safe, loved, known and understood;
-
Foster close, supportive relationships between all members of the school community: families, teachers, administrators, staff and students;
-
Maintain high academic standards while respecting the pace of child development;
-
Challenge students to think critically, creatively, and conceptually;
-
Provide hands-on, engaging, authentic learning experiences that challenge students to wrestle with big ideas and their own assumptions
-
Support students’ inquiry and self-reflection

OUR VISION
Mudzini School is owned by Mudzini Kwetu Centre Trust. The Trust is a human rights body based in Kilifi County, in the coastal region of Kenya. The school is founded on the precept that access to equal quality education is a perquisite of a progressive, just and well governed society. The Trust’s efforts are driven by the belief that a right or liability should in as far as is possible, be equalised among all interested parties and therefore quality education should be accessible to all citizens regardless of their social status.
We believe that if a large number of children from deprived backgrounds are given equal opportunities with those from privileged backgrounds to access quality education together, then both will be able to work together and transform their lives and those of the communities in which they live.
To that end, the trust has built a serene home to provide care and protection for about 100 disadvantaged children aged between 1-17 years, and a premium school to educate children from both deprived and flourishing families. The families of privilege together with patrons of the home, pay school fees to run the school.
Mudzini School offers the local (8-4-4), CBC and the British Curricula (Cambridge) from Kindergarten through to high school. This allows us to give every learner an opportunity to specialise in the subjects of their interest, as they target particular professions. The school programs also allow greater flexibility to learners who have different vocational abilities. The school builds on and further develops these abilities and as a result enhances their prospects for admission in different colleges and universities in the world. The school has a small unit of mild to medium special needs program.
Mudzini School enrolls students from all walks of life including diverse nationalities, ethnicities, social economic status, academic abilities and religious affiliations. This inclusivity provides diversity to our students. Extra curricula activities and exposure to diverse cultural experiences permeates our students to understand and experience the idea of global citizenry.
Even though our classes are spacious enough to accommodate over 40 students, we limit our classes to a maximum of 18 learners at junior levels and 26 learners at higher levels, for educators to give individualised attention to individual learners. The small numbers also allow the staff to get to know each learner and their families and to maintain regular individualised and proactive communication between home and school. Despite the class sizes the school fees is competitive. Our desire is to make private education as affordable as possible so that as many children as possible can access quality education.
Our commitment to parents and guardians who entrust us with their children is that;
a) Our school will always pay attention to quality
b) Our school will grow to accommodate as many students as possible
c) Increased capacity will not compromise quality and our standards
d) our quality education will always be fairly and competitively priced.
Our desire is not to imitate or compete with other international schools in Kenya but rather compliment their effort of providing options for quality education by bringing on board innovative and effective approaches to teaching and learning that allows the learner to appreciate and embrace learning.
