Mudzini School had the pleasure of participating in the 4th edition of the Inter-School Triathlon and Aquathlon Championship this term, at the Mombasa Technical Training Institute on the 13th of October 2019. A team of 7 swimmers and bike riders accompanied by their trainers; Mr. Peter, Mr. Henry and Ms. Cecilia, were selected to take part during the day’s events.
The first event was the triathlon, which includes three events comprised of swimming, followed by running and then finally cycling. The male category fielded two participants;
Tyrese (Grade 9) and Maximillan (Year 9), with Max taking home the gold for that heat after exhibiting self belief and endurance.
Next up was the U11 aquathlon, which included swimming and running events. Imani (Year 7), Grace (Grade 5) and Priscila (Grade 5) were the participants in this category. Once the whistle blew, Imani was first off the line and took a commanding lead through out the heat which led to her taking home the gold medal. Grace and Priscila followed taking home silver and bronze medals respectively.
The final event of the day was the Under 15 aquathlon, where our team had two participants, that is; Faith (Form 1) and Rehema (Form 1), who took silver and gold medals respectively.
