MS offers an constructivist approach to an enriched and challenging academic program. A constructivist apporach maintains that knowledge is not given or received but is constructed. Students are not viewed as empty vessels in which to pour wisdom and knowledge, but rather active participants in the construction of knowledge. Within this paradigm, teachers are facilitators and mentors during the learning process. Students engage in purposeful, structured inquiry designed to move students from their current levels of understanding to to new and more refined levels of understanding.
