The MS early childhood program is carried out utilizing the best practices in early childhood education. Recognizing that early experiences have a profound effect on development and learning, the early childhood program focuses on presenting opportunities that promote the development of the whole child - physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively. MS early childhood teachers use a balance of challenge, support, sensitivity, and stimulation to provide classroom experiences in which young learners explore  materials, ideas, and roles. The early childhood program also focuses on providing exposure to pre-literacy skills and guidance and practice in learning the “language of school”, including how to follow directions, respond to questions, initiate problem-solving, and develop self-regulation.
